In 1986, Frank Dakin & Son in Shifnal embarked on their first contract farming agreement. Since then, the business rapidly expanded, securing four additional whole-farm agreements throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Today, Frank Dakin & Son manage two agreements, offering cutting-edge technical expertise, skilled labor, and modern machinery across over 500 hectares of arable land. Regular meetings with farm owners ensure efficient operations that meet all estate management needs.

We run a reduced tillage min-till system, where we aim to grow predominantly winter crops across a 7 year rotation. With relatively low inorganic fertiliser rates and an IPM approach to the use of plant protection products, we aim to farm in an economically and environmentally sustainable way. Our strategy can be tailored to any farm, and whilst we seek to maximise profit, we are ready to work alongside clients to find and optimal system that works on their land.
